The Asian Hornet: The French Experience

Andrew Durham, one of our CBKA members, will speak on the Asian Hornet, its spread across France, and its effect on French Beekeepers and their implementation of defences against it.

Following the arrival of the Asian Hornet in the UK, and with further incursions expected in 2017, Andrew has been researching the experience of the French, who have been living with this predator of honey-bees for over 12 years. He will present his research, detail a comprehensive strategy for defence that can be implemented by the beekeeper, and offer practical advice on trapping and hive/apiary defences.
